Heather Locklear has the help of her loved ones as she receives treatment from rehabilitation.
A source near the situation tells PEOPLE that the celebrity, who’s finishing a court-ordered 30-day stint at a private rehabilitation center, has maintained a favorable relationship with her 21-year-old daughter Ava, whom she shares ex Richie Sambora.
“Ava has a very loving and supportive relationship with her mother,” the source says. “And as debilitating it is, she understands that it is in her mother’s hands and God’s hands. She can do would be like anyone else, simply pray and encourage.”
Locklear, 57, has battled substance abuse for many years and has sought aid in rehabilitation a range of occasions. Last month, the Melrose Place actress pleaded no contest to eight misdemeanor counts stemming from both arrests at 2018, PEOPLE supported: five counts of battery on a peace officer, 1 count of battery in a emergency medical staff, and 2 counts of resisting, obstructing, or delaying a peace officer.
The next, in June, came following Locklear supposedly attacked the police officer and EMT who responded to a disturbance call in her home. Police told PEOPLE that the celebrity was”extremely intoxicated” and”arguing with family and friends” when they came.
TMZ first reported that Locklear has been ordered to register at a month-long treatment plan in a residential mental health facility by Sept. 6.
Radar Online reported that Locklear had been sentenced to 120 days in jail, but the sentence was stayed pending the conclusion of the treatment plan. She was also allegedly placed on a casual three-year probation; under the conditions of her sentence, she can’t absorb alcohol, have dangerous or deadly weapons, or choose non-prescription drugs.
An authorized representative for Locklear didn’t respond to PEOPLE’s petition for comment at that moment.
